AFTER WE TALKED TODAY... I remembered looking at a stair once... at that time, I put the stair in the south east corner of your present dining area... there is a problem with this... cutting thru your existing roof so it makes much more sense to put the stair in the addition as it is now shown.
this plan removed the cupola from the roof (or it could stay) and reduce the number of windows but with the bath upstairs left the roof heights the same as it was (8'-0"). I re-did the trusses over the seating portion of the great room so you could actually have a balcony above the columns.
I show the bonus room with bed bath and storage area so it can be for hobby or guest bedroom.
